How Do You Do It?!
Currently, Portland Early Learning offers classes for babies, preschoolers and elementary school children.
For those of you who have multiple children spanning those ages, we wonder how do you do it? What did you do to juggle big brother/sister's needs and new baby?
Here's a link to one of our favorite websites, Urban Mamas, where you can share your experiences and see what other families do to make new babyhood a positive experience for big brother or sister!
Start with arms bent at the elbows, palms face up in front of you. Slightly curl up your finger tips as you pull your elbows back and hands closer to your body.
and MetroKids. Welcome Emily! We're so glad to have you on our team!

New class locations:
As many of you know we have been offering classes at various locations throughout the community for some time now. Kara and I are so excited to be partnering with even more high-quality and community oriented businesses and want to bring them to your attention so that you may in turn support those who support us!
Zenana Spa and Wellness Center: Designed with mamas in mind! Zenana offers spa services and a variety of family friendly classes ranging from mommy and baby yoga, pilates and belly dance, to positive parenting classes, lactation support and more.
The PLAY Boutique: Located in Lake Oswego, PLAY Boutique offers children's classes, parent/child classes and other family friendly play times. Check them out online to find out more!
Urban Grind Coffee House:Starting this summer, look for us at Urban Grind. If you haven't been there yet, be sure to stop in and sip coffee with us before or after your child's class. They've got a play corner, play room, classroom for families to enjoy and even a nursing room so that mamas can nurse peacefully.
Thank you so much for sharing this great story, Erica!!
As most of you know, Kara and I run a tiny business, striving to make our work and play one in the same.
It is your positive words that are helping our goal of offering a full range of family-centered classes and workshops come true!
Please help us spread the word about Portland Early Learning Project.
You can do this by sharing your experiences with us at LilaGuide.com.
It was so nice to participate in your class – I really enjoyed it! I wanted to let you know that after sitting in on your lesson about bugs (bichos), I purchased bug-shaped graham crackers yesterday and Anthony had a bowl full of them for snack when we got home from school. In his bowl were ants, beetles, butterflies, ladybugs, caterpillars and dragonflies. He spoke in Spanish the entire time as he ate each bug, using the correct names for each bug and saying "si hay." It was amazing. Then, he said, "I'll have to ask Teacher Kara how to say dragonfly in Spanish since that's the only bug I don't know in here." It was the perfect way to incorporate Spanish into our daily lives…which we already do but the timing of having these "bicho crackers" was perfect so I just had to share!
Thanks,
Erica"
