¡day of the dead! friday, Oct 28, 5:30-7:30pm, 6-9yr olds
From Kara, director of Spanish Language in Play:
Day of the Dead is one my favorite holidays, as well as our students'
favorite! Children are fascinated with the celebratory spirit of the holiday
and always beg us to read more stories about this Latin American tradition!

On Fri, Oct 28, 5:30-7:30pm, your child is welcome to join
me for a very special celebration...

Drop your child off at our classroom, and grab a bite to eat on nearby
Fremont or Alberta St. While you're away, your child will make traditional
crafts (sugar skulls!), listen to wonderful stories, munch on healthy &
festive snacks (including bread of the dead), all while learning the ins and
outs of why the Day of the Dead is something we can smile about! As the
night draws to a close, you will be welcomed back into a transformed,
magical setting - the likes of which you will see from down the street! Your
child will invite you in, point out many authentic Day of the Dead mementos,
and tell you about the traditions we've taken part in.

Enchanting and playful, this celebration will promote an appreciation for
those we've loved and/or who came before us, as well as how Latin American
communities around the globe celebrate collective humanity and caring for one another.

**100% of collected fees will go into our
Community Outreach Fund, which enables us collaborate
with schools and agencies that serve diverse populations,
including families with low incomes.
